  • A street-legal sintered or EPFA-class pad is the manufacturer-sanctioned track-day choice. Full race compounds are for when the pad is the limiting factor — and yours isn't yet.

Two things, both confirmed verbatim in the MY25 owner's manuals: suspension and battery. The S gets a fully adjustable TiN-coated Öhlins NIX30 43 mm fork and Öhlins shock (the base runs a Marzocchi 43 mm fork and a Kayaba shock), plus a lightweight lithium Skyrich HJT7B battery in place of the base's lead-acid Yuasa YT7B-BS, and a single seat as standard. The engine, brakes, chain, spark plugs, oil, coolant and service intervals are all shared with the base V2.

Do the Panigale V2 S brakes differ from the base V2?

No. Both trims run identical Brembo M50 (M4.30) monobloc 4-piston front callipers on dual 320 mm discs with a Brembo PR 16/21 radial master cylinder and steel-braided lines, plus a 2-piston 245 mm rear — printed word-for-word in both MY25 owner's manuals and confirmed by Ducati's spec and launch press. The brakes DID change versus the previous-generation 955 V2 (which used the heavier Brembo M4.32 caliper), so a rider coming off a 955 will feel a difference between generations, not between the 890's two trims.
