Terms of use

EFFECTIVE 2026-07-19

Plain-language terms. TOSPEC is an educational reference for motorcycle maintenance specs — not a repair manual, not a store, and not the manufacturer of any part it describes.

What TOSPEC is

TOSPEC publishes sourced maintenance specifications and educational guides for sport motorcycles, plus the Check my bike tool. It is a reference, not a repair procedure: we tell you what a manual says, not how to do the job. We are not a store — we do not sell parts, hold inventory, or process payments. Buy links lead to independent third-party retailers, and any purchase is a contract between you and them.

Verify against your own manual

Specs on this site are US-market reference figures, compiled from manufacturer manuals, catalogues, and registries and dated when checked. They can carry transcription errors, and they can go out of date. Always verify a spec against your own owner's manual for your exact year, generation, and market before you rely on it. Where we could not verify a figure, we mark it unverified rather than guess — treat those as gaps, not specs.

Safety-critical work

Some jobs fail silently: a mistake gives no warning before it matters at speed. Brakes, steering and suspension, wheel and steering-head bearings, and any fastener with a torque spec fall in this category. Torque values, fluid specs, and pad shapes on this site are reference points, not a substitute for the manufacturer's procedure or a qualified mechanic. If you do not have the right tools, the factory torque data, and the experience, have safety-critical work done professionally.

Brakes and steering do not announce a bad repair before you need them. When in doubt on anything that steers or stops the bike, book it — it's cheaper than the alternative.

Prices are advisory

Prices and dealer-cost bands shown are typical US figures at publish time. They drift with sales, supply, and shop rates, and we do not promise they are current or accurate. Verify the exact part number and price with the retailer before buying.

Trademarks

All trademarks belong to their owners; TOSPEC is not affiliated with, nor sponsored or endorsed by, any manufacturer, retailer, or oil brand. Brand, model, and part names appear on this site nominatively — to identify which consumables suit which motorcycles — and never to imply endorsement or partnership.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links are affiliate links, and Another One, LLC may earn a commission on purchases made through them at no extra cost to you. Commissions never decide which parts, oils, or bikes we cover.

No warranty

The site and everything on it is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including accuracy, completeness, merchantability, and fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Another One, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, from parts or fluids bought through links on it, or from maintenance performed on any vehicle in reliance on it. If a court finds us liable anyway, our total liability is capped at $100 — which is still more than you paid to use TOSPEC, because using it costs $0.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes belong to the state or federal courts located in California.

Changes

If these terms change, the new version is posted at this address with an updated effective date. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
